This week has been great at work. Not too busy, but not slow enough that I’ve had to leave early. If it weren’t for all the meetings we’ve had recently over the post Joint Commission fallout, things would be wonderful. I’m actually starting to love my job. Well I was anyway until the latest batch of pregnant women started touring the unit this week.
The childbirth class instructor told me that this is the largest group they’ve ever had. They’ve had to open up more classes. And they are all due in October. It seems like every pregnant woman I meet is due in October. Now I know it was chilly last winter, but it wasn’t THAT cold. And how can there be anyone of childbearing age left in this town that hasn’t already delivered this year? OK – I know it’s physically possible that someone could have delivered once this year and still be due in October (probably will happen) but COME ON!!! With over 300 in childbirth classes, plus those that won’t take them for whatever reason, we are going to be swamped.
Hmmmmmm…. I have a bit of vacation time built up. I’m thinking that October will be a really great time to go to Charleston and visit my family. Where did I put that vacation request?
